Startup items are obsolete in OS X Yosemite Thanks for the quick reply, here's the report:īluetooth: Old - Handoff/Airdrop2 not supported And I'm running Yosemite 10.10.1.Īny info and or advice would be greatly appreciated! I have 436.91 GB free of 999.35 GB - I installed a 1 TB SATA Disk 2 years ago to replace the original disk which I ran out of space on. I have an iMac (20-inch, Early 2008), yes I know it's old, with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. The last time it happened I only had Mac Mail, Safari, iTunes, Messages, and Calculator open. I've scaled back on the number of apps I have open at once. It seemed better for a while but I notice it seems to happen when I'm using Safari now. I uninstalled Firefox because I noticed it usually happened when I was using it. I've also uninstalled Avast (security program) and removed its ad-ons in Safari. ![]() I've repaired disk permissions and reset the PRAM. ![]() I've restarted in safe mode many times in hopes it would help. When it first started doing this the screen would go grey (or black or striped), the music would stop or start skipping, and the cursor would not move.Ĭommand + option + escape does nothing. Lately the screen has been freezing on what I'd been looking at (i.e., a page in Safari), iTunes continues to play whatever music I'm listening to, and I can also still move the cursor around with my mouse. It's been happening for a couple months now and becoming more frequent (it's happened 3 times today). My iMac keeps freezing and I'm hoping there's some expert advice out there that will help me solve the problem.
